About me
My name is N’Dea Smit and I’m a vocalist, vocal coach and songwriter. I’ve been singing and writing for most of my life as I have always been surrounded by music with my dad teaching me about soul, disco and funk music all throughout my childhood and my mom’s side of the family always singing together creating a beautiful choir. It made me fall in love with music at a young age, however I didn’t start doing this seriously until I was around 12 when I taught myself how to play the guitar, taking musical theatre classes and turning my poems into songs for the first time. When I was 18, I started studying Music, Vocals at Rijn IJssel in Arnhem where I started honing my skills as an singer & songwriter. After finishing my studies at Rijn IJssel, I moved to Berlin to study Popular Music Performance at BIMM University where I now earned my Bachelors in Performance Arts.
Through out my almost 10 years of experience in the music industry, I’ve performed a lot in different bands doing both main and backing vocals. During my time at BIMM University I’ve discovered my love for vocal coaching others, arranging vocals and writing for others. Helping other people find their voice and ways to express their emotions through their voices and songs has been bringing me a lot of join and I hope to be able to continue to do this for many years.
